Here is a shot of the sunroof. He says it was a vinyl top car before the repaint.

Currently putting together some numbers for the later E-body power sunroof cars. This is a very preliminary number - but easily less than 200 base Challengers and Challenger Rallyes combined. Probably closer to 150 combined. I have seen other estimates as low as 30,(and that may be just for Rallyes), but I have reason to believe otherwise. I need to document several more before I can give a more accurate production number for these cool cars.
Scott.

I can account for two Plymouths, a 72 GTX and 72 Cuda. I would like to find a pair of Dodge's. Production numbers seem to be all over the map. Don't know who to believe. I would like to hear more about them really.

Hey Tom,
Great pair you have there. I ran across your thread on the RRGTX, but had not run across your 72 Cuda yet. I have put together a couple of pamphlets on 71 and 72 Ply B-bodies that I have run across, and they are located here:

RRNest thread on 71-72 ply sunroof cars

Thanks for posting the info on your 72RRGTX!
Scott.

Nice list Scott. Alot more 71s than 2s huh? Thanks for putting the list together.

I took the Cuda to Carlisle hoping I would find someone that may have remembered it or known of its history. Unfortunately I couldn't hang out with it much. For 25 years I've been roaming around car shows and while I know others are out there, this is the only Cuda with the sunroof option I have ever seen with my own eyes.

Sorry for the Hi-jack

I didn't know that was your car Tom. I did see it and took a few pics.

Only a small Hi-jack - just expanding it to 72 sunroof E-bodies. I took another look at the few 72 Cudas/Barracudas that I have run across and can venture a very preliminary estimate. I have also seen a couple of forum posts that state GG numbers of 32 or 33 'Cudas that came with the factory sunroof. This seems reasonable, as my estimate for total 72 'Cuda/Barracuda production should be around 70-75 cars. That works out to about 40-ish BH23 cars with the sunroof. Very few and far between - which is why you don't see very many.

I have not ravaged the net for the 72 B-bodies as much as the 71's, so the list is not as extensive. But I do believe that production numbers for the 72's are a bit less than the 71's. In addition, the 71's are likely being sought-out and restored at a better clip than the 72's.

Scott.
