I have purchased the "Correct" Intake Manifold Hardware for my 1970 426 Hemi. My question is where exactly do all the studs go, and where do all the bolts go through the Manifold ? Biggest question is Where does the LONG stud go ? It only has ONE in the kit, and it must have it's place.

I have looked everywhere online, and it seems most people either have the wrong hardware on their engine, or some have the correct hardware, just in different places...lol

I can understand that very few of these Hemi engines are the way they came from the factory 43 years ago. I know mine has had its share of backyard mechanics messing with it, and whoever let them have tools in their hands should be slapped... I'm just sayin'...lol

Did you get the kit from Frank Badalson? He includes the bolt location drawings. I myself, don't remember where they all go without having the engine in front of me.....too much stuff to remember in this hobby...

I'm not fresh on this. I think you will see it when you put the intake on. I believe it goes in the tallest boss on the intake, up front where the small throttle return spring bracket goes. Sorry I can't be totally sure. It has been awhile I guess.

I didn't get any instructions as to where these Bolts/studs should go. You'd think for 145 bux you'd get a color 8x10 glossy photo.

And there's no single Boss on the Intake that's taller than the rest of'em. If I were a betting man, I would guess that it would go into the hole that the spring bracket, and the Spark Plug wire retainer share on the front left side of the intake as you suggested, but this stud is quite a bit taller than the rest. Can anyone confirm this, or set me straight ?

Going from memory.....the left rear stud for the throttle/kick-down bracket had a lot of threads showing above the nut....around an inch if I am remembering correctly....

Thank you very much. I'm sure I'm not the first person to ever wonder where this hardware goes exactly. I really appreciate it, and I hope it helps others in the future too
