a little paint to keep the flash rust down, go back and grind the welds down flat. and its patched. do a little sand blasting on the surface rust on the rest of driver floor, then a coat of bed liner sprayed inside. then it is ready to flip on its back so I can weld the back side of patch, then coat the firewall/cab bottom with the bed spay on bed liner. ACE did a 59 chebby and I do like the finished look of the spray on bed liner inside and out of the cab. easy clean up with a hose and not soggy carpet.

last 3 trucks Ace has sprayed,he used the rustoleum rubberized spray bed liner. same finish look you have there in the raptor. the 64 chebby got it in the lower cab with a gloss white dash and upper 1/2 of cab. the 59 chebby got same inside with a full undercoating and all of the underhood/engine bay. what was a fast patch up to swap in the 5 speed is turning into a little more body work than i had thought about doing. but I am really enjoying the project again for a change. I am ready to flip the cab and weld up the bottom next, then on to sparying the bedliner.

and another shot. 20$ for sheet metal,60$ for bedliner = 80$ for patch work so far. with cab/tax = 400$ to replace the 85 cab. well worth the effort and cash so far. hope to squeeze it all in under the 550$ cash mark. going to need another roll of wire for welder, another gallon of bedliner to finish up the cab. little progress at a time. the 5 speed conversion is coming in under 900$ but still need to build a drive shaft yet. the whiplash roller cam swap added another 550$ to the bill. it will be like a new truck for less than 2000$ invested. which is better than a 350$/month 5 yr payment plan right now.

I did a whole cab swap on my truck last year, its a lot more solid and quiet now Your donor cab didnt have the lower rear window trim did it? I would be interested if so.
416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out. 11.06 open headers----so far!!

yes, i got it done, waiting to do the rocker next,i got to chop rust out first, then chop greenie up a little more to patch the rocker.
when its all done it will get another gallon bedliner on the bottom. if you look I did the a-pillers/jambs and plan to do the lower rockers along with the floot bottom.
once thats done its on to the front drip rail/roof repair. clean/cut/weld/allmetal should fix up the weak spots and small holes. looks like i will have to trim the front driprail edge middle section out. main thing is to be able to get the pinch weld solid,glass/gasket in, then seal it up across the top of gasket with body sealer.
ran out of wire today so add another 20$ for a 100$ total for patch repair.
still ahead at 450$ for rust free cab replacment.
