So what are you truck guys using on your tonneau covers to keep them looking nice and black? I've always just cleaned it with a soft brush and soapy water. But it's looking a little faded. What can I use to make it look good again? I don't want to just use Armour All because it will just run down the sides of the bed next time I wash it.

A leather tonneau cover like this one? I just use a brush and soapy water. I used black magic(?) a while back, but mostly just a brush and soapy water. Been on the back of the truck in direct sunlight. It's about 15 years old by now. Needs stitches redone, but no cracking or tearing or peeling

Depends what the material is. Not much out there but Armour All for vinyl tonnos. Doesn't have to be done every wash but you mention fade and I don't know what to do about that.
The sun kills everything with color on a vehicle and I suspect that if it's faded a tear can't be far behind. If the material is still soft enough maybe it can be dyed.

I guess it's vinyl. It's a Extang Black Max. About ten years old. Been inside for the last three years or so. It's not torn or ripped at all, just faded.

I have some of the that black magic stuff. If I'd get caught out in the rain, would that stuff run down the bed sides like Armor All?

I've never noticed that. What color is your truck?

My truck is black. ANY dirt or whatever is on the tonneau cover runs down the bed sides and leaves ugly streaks that are difficult to remove with just washing it.

I'm going to try to get some of that Truxedo Pro-Tex. I went to Autozone after work today, but they didn't have it. Will try Advance Auto over the weekend.

I always used regular Vinyl Top cleaner and conditioner. I forget the maker, but its the same stuff I always used on my cars roofs.

My cover is over 20 years old and still in great shape, (but then again its garage kept and not driven in winter and rain ) i used Armorall for years on my cover but didn`t like the streaks if I did get caught in a shower. Then last few years I just use the same Mequairs spray detailer that I use on the rest of the truck, spray on, wipe a little then wipe off after drying a little. No streaks
