then it would be better to ask this in the drag race forum instead of the Handling Forum. it would be a little bit different set up.

for a truck that will see limited drag action I would go with a ladder bar set up. Ladders bars are much easier to install plus set up is easier and theu are cheaper. You wont need the infinite adjustment of a 4 link setup. However if you see yourself getting more serious with drag racing then the 4 link might be a better option..

The step ups on the frame won't allow for the stock bed floor if you do it right. You could weld brackets to the stock rails maybe , but you want that stuff to be rock solid and you'd be surprised at how much they will twist. There is a fellow from southern Mn. who posts here and I can't swear to his handle , but it is D-100 ish in nature.......he has a well done Hemi in his and has probably had every problem you will face.
I don't know if you're refering to me, I live about 100 miles south of the northern border with Canada. I built a 4-link for my D-100 and like it, much nicer ride on the street. I'm still sorting a few things out but I think it's getting close. My main problem has been dealing with weak links, I first built it when I was making 650hp. I'm now at 850+, trying to build everything strong enough but at the same time keep the weight down to a minumum has been a challenge. Dave

Yeah I was........sorry. I could have sworn Nielsville was down Winona / Caledonia way. I seem to remember a thread where you were twisting the frame rails and how you addressed it.

i want to eliminate the leaf springs on a short bed d100. i plan on doing a 4 link with coil overs to replace them. any suggestions on which 4 link i should be looking at. the rear end is a d60. i plan on racing it but it will mostly be driven on the street.
I would want to see what the distance is from the back of the cab to the center line of the axle... that would tell me alot and what I would use and do... also what the balance point is on the truck... if you knew a couple of these numbers its easier to figure out... I buy the S&W brackets and make my own bars for almost every 4-link I install

They are very front heavy, and also, I believe he would need to put the frame up thru the bed. That is somthing I was able to avoid on mine....

I am building a Ramcharger for bracket racing and am keeping it simple. I am using the original leafs with clamps on the front segment, spooled Dana 60 mounted above the springs. At the moment I have front mounts at the rear with longer shackles, but I am going to use rollers mounted to a square tube crossmember that will also serve as the anchor point for the rear tubes of the roll cage. Finally, I will be using a homemade copy of the "CalTrac" system.

Finally....I found a man crazier than me. My factory leaf springs worked wonderful until I went to a 528 Hemi. I tryed the caltracks and shocks and just couldn't get them to work. I called Calvert racing hoping they could make up a set of leaf springs for me. They said they couldn't help me so I fabbed up a 4-link. I bought a copy of Billy Shoppes, 'Just Suspensions' it was a tremendous help. Dave

quickd100: do you have any pics of the 4 link under your truck?
Sorry, I don't have anything current and the shop is plugged with equipment right now and I can't get remotely close to the hoist to get any pics. Dave
