Hi all,
I recently purchased a 63 Belvedere and was told it was an original max wedge car but the orig. motor is gone. It has a very worn "notice" sticker in the glove box stating a 426 cid engine and other specialty equipment and no warranty. The sticker looks to be original as i can barely decipher it and its is starting to crumble from age. The fender tag calls out a chrysler v-8, not plymouth v-8. Any info would be appreciated. It is currently 4-speed but came with pushbutton torquflite which was included in purchase.
Thanks for any input. I can't find any way to know for sure.

Your picture isn't working.

If you post or PM the VIN# I can check Darrell Davis' Max Wedge VIN list to see if it is there.

sorry about the pic

it has a 9 under the A on the fender tag. I also found what appear to be two choke cables under the seat.
thanks

I look for the obvious.. voltage regulator is moved, headlight and engine harness moved, choke on dash and correct grommet for choke cables to start with. If it's real, it still might have many original pieces but also keep in mind that everything can faked...
except the numbers. The tag sounds right plus the cables

If it was a '63 Savoy I would say that you might have stumbled on my old car..

actually i think it may be a savoy. seller says its a belvedere. i have the car now but waiting for the title. the owner passed away and the estate lawyer is filling out the paper work to properly transfer the title. The car is blue, with blue interior.

I don't know if this link will work but i made a you tube video of my 65 plymouth and a little bit of the 63. it's titled "altered wheelbase plymouth construction part 7" the 63 was real nice and then the owner had a tragic accident and the car got pushed outside for 14 years. I bought it thinking it would make a great drag car. never thought anyone would leave a real maxie outside.....but maybe....

Looked at your video and it appears to be at least a Belvedere and maybe a Fury if the trim is right

I saw it now.. the roof post.

I assume the 85 & 3 are production #'s,... not known to exist #'s...correct?

Correct, that is the number built. IMO "known to exist #s" are far from ideal.
