Not to highjack your post, but. My truck came with CC. I'd like to get it working again. What are some of the first things to look at to see why it isn't working? Eveything's there, still hooked up.
what year is your truck? and can i get some pictures of the cruise control under the hood?

Sure, I'll take some tomorrow and post them up. It's a '76 360/auto. Mike
i cant imagine the cruise control system from back then would be too complicated. i wish the 75 close by had it so i could look at it in person. i cant find anything on google or any pictures. i dont even think the parts stores carry anything for them. im going to go in and check tomorrow. id have to think with a test light you should be able to see if the switch has any power to it. the diaphragm might be bad though and im not sure how to check that.

You have the vacuum pod brain under the hood with the speedo in and out hooks to the throttle with a cable.
Then you have the switches on the turn signal and power up with a brake light switch interrupt .
All plugs into the unit under the hood, if the power is getting to the unit should work, wiring can be found in any vintage 70's wiring diagram.
Not hard to add if you have the parts, going to try it on my 57 Willy's with the 4bt diesel, just need a working vacuum pump
