Our Nascar sanctioned track has a no Anti Freeze rule too. No rust in our ZZ1 cast iron motor blocks.

And Anti Freeze does not cool as well at water and coolant additive. Here in So Cal, I run Justice Brothers Super Radiator Cooler and Reverse Osmosis (RO) water in my Barracuda for the last couple years. I also put in Justice Brothers Cooling System Protectant for added anti rust and electrolysis protection.

Very complete test of coolant additives:
http://www.turbomagazine.com/features/0703_turp_cooling_system_additives/viewall.html

"Justice Brothers' Radiator Cooler gave us the lowest temperature during our testing - 177 F - and provided the lowest average temperatures overall when mixed with water alone."

You should have less than 300mV (.3 volts) in you coolant system. Test with a multimeter ground and one side dangling in the coolant.

I've fought cooling issues since the day I put my car back on the road. I've tried several name brand water wetters and the one I had the best luck with was DEI's Radiator Relief. There was a noticeable difference over the Redline and Royal Purple products, and all were used with 100% water.

Also, I believe using a water pump lube or water wetter is ok for NHRA. It's the glycol in antifreeze they don't want.

Reverse osmosis water is just purified water. On the jug it'll say "drinking water" instead of spring or distilled.
