I have 15x8, 4.5 backspace Rallyes with M/T L 60s. They will rub.

A 5 inch back spacing should move the wheels closer to the rails than a 4 1/2 back spacing correct?

On the '70 Barracuda I had, 15x8 Rallyes with 4.5" BS were just a bit too much, and would rub the wheelwells on bumps using a 275/60R15 tire. I remember thinking I should have used 4.25" BS.
======================================== Factory 15 x 7 ralleys have 4 1/4 backspace , so you say put the full extra 1 inch of a 15 x 8 wheel to the outside , I don't think so.
