Firecore wires have recieved multiple rave reviews on here but are pricey. Me I'd get a set of solid core wires that are reasonable. Same cap/rotor but get the Echlin MO-3000 rotor from NAPA which has a .060" longer blade. I'd suggest an E coil but I'm not sure which one. I run an older black FBO coil with the .25 MP race ballast on a DD & it starts/runs flawless. Mine is not the new FBO full 12V coil & not sure if his new one is an E coil or not. I'd suggest keeping your dist & tuning the systems on it in order & the NAPA rotor & a tan cap with brass inserts & a full 12V E coil & a parts house generic Mopar 4 pin ECU (they're cheap/perform good). The power is going to be in the coil/ballast (or coil/no ballast) & extensively reworking the dist systems: initial/total/springs/vac adv IN ORDER staying just under the pinging point on the systems after the initial is set with the "vacuum gauge method"

I tested a few different coils with different ignition boxes in the past and I am currently testing more boxes, coils, and resistors currently on my dyno. The best coil I had found for low rpm engines using any of the MP ignition boxes( chrome or orange) was the Accel canister coil for use with points/ electronic conversion. The best high rpm choice was the MSD blaster 2/3. Rick at Firecore sent me his new canister coil he will be selling for using with hid distributors. I have been testing it for the last couple of days. When I first saw the specs on it,I thought it would act pretty similar to the MSD Blaster series, but it falls right in between it and the Accel. Better low end torque than the MSD,better top end horsepower than the Accel . Not sure what the cost on them will be. As far as coil and ballast resistors go,don't worry much about it. On a 370-380 horsepower360 the absolute worst combination of high resistance coil combined with the highest resistance ballast resistor I had on hand ( 1.6 ohm) only lost 5 horsepower but it it also smoothed out the overall power curve over the same coil without the resistor . Avoid cheap Accel plug wires, use Rapid Roberts advice on the cap and rotor. Keith

I'd suggest a tried & true eddie 1406 600 elec choke (I'm assuming you have a 318 or a 360).

I have and still do run Taylors on everything. The ones on my 440 are probally 15 years old and still doing fine.At the shop we used Autolite wires for most street cars.Cap and rotor Belden is good as is the better cap and rotor that Advanced sells.Stay away from the cheap wires that AutoZone sells.Coils we run MSD Blasters.Same thing mine is 15 years old and still working great. Its a street driver not a race car.I doubt spending tons of $$$ he will even notice the difference between good quality parts and race type stuff.Rocky
