What is the correct routing for the hose that exits the top of the center carb on a 440 Six Pack? The two cars I've looked at just end at the back of the block. Is this correct? Is this hose a vent?

It connects to the 3 nipple breather on the passenger valve cover.

This is true of 70 ECS equipped cars & all 71's.. But 69 & 70 non-ECS should have a open bowl vent but all the new carbs have the nipple..

If you have no ECS provisions on the car, just put a rubber vaccum cap on it, better than leaving it venting to the atmosphere where you could have the potential for an overflow and gas on a hot engine = I've run a plug on both my Smblk and Bblk 6 pack set ups, no issues, as the center carb still has the center vent tube in the throat

IIRC the "correct" carb for a 69 center would have the "rubber hat" vent, not a tube fitting....if that matters?

That would be correct, and some early 69 1/2 centers had no vent.
