I'm just starting the rebuild of my 70 GTX and was thinking of running King Street at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota. My question is how fast are the guys running in KS at BIR I've looked on there web site and haven't found anything on there about it. I'm just curious on what it would take to be competitive in KS.One more question is are there two seperate classes like NA, PA or is it run what you brung?
Thanks for any and all info
Kevin

So I was pretty close thinking mid to high 8's then. One more question how much HP is needed in a 3600lb car to run mid to high 8"s?
Thanks
Kevin

You would need 1060 to go a 8.75 at that weight.

So now I know that I'll need 1100HP to be competitive.
Thanks for the info

You might want to look into a lot lighter car, and a Procharger

I run a procharged dart in real street unlimited, needs mufflers, ins, dot tires, and working lights. I ran a 9.30 and was one of the slower cars. mid eights are common and I thought one guy qualified with a 7.95 in that class. I could be wrong, but I know mid to low eights are common in that class.

So I guess if I want to run King Street then I'll have to step up the program just a wee bit.Plus I can't see me buying another car so I'll have to work with what I have and build more power.

Believe me Al I've looked at it and drooled all over my computer. But I made the decision to work with what I have already and it's in the works as we speak. But if I didn't have a car I'd be all over it.
Thanks
Kevin

Foiled again

Seriously best of luck with the new bullet. I am sure it will be where you want it to be.

Thanks Al,
I'm kind of at a crossroads with the engine build, not sure if I should do the power adder or NA. But with the car I know how it's going to be done.
