I have the 440 in the Superbird almost buttoned up and am looking for options on the valve covers. I would like to run a set of cast aluminum covers but am now gun shy about what will fit. I have the Year One repop HP (68-69 style) exhaust manifolds and discovered that the passenger side manifold and my new MP cast aluminum valve cover want to occupy the same space. I have now learned that this was common for these valve covers. So, are there any that do fit? I seem to remember a buddy had a set of Mickey Thompson valve covers on his big block back in the 80's that fit, but I cant remember if he had manifolds or headers Anyone know what would work? Thanks Scott

The M/T, Holley, Wieand, and Cal Customs that I owned in my life all worked with factory exhaust manifolds.
I have not yet tried the Mopar brand ones. I own a set.
Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen!
Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

When I swapped from headers to '68 manifolds, I also had to swap my fabricated aluminum rocker covers to stamped steel.

My MP cast covers hit with the stock (non HP) manifold also. We ground enough off the cover to clear. You couldn't see it after it was done, but you may not want to hack new covers....
This is what I've done in the past w/ a pair of MP aluminum covers. Just grind a little off the valve cover and it will clear.

FePro used to have exhaust manifold gaskets with a heat shield. Don't know if they still make them though.
