Just pulled the center section on my 8 3/4 rear. The first time in my life I got NO gear lube on me...I love my 4 post lift.  43 teeth on the ring gear and 11 teeth on the pinion should be 3.91? Everything looks excellent I'm wondering how old the parts are. The case is an antique 657, looks to be a Power Loc inside. Are there any date codes on the ring gear? Here are some pics.

Yes , bolts holding it together on the same end as the ring gear bolts and the teeth of the gears look like <bleep> from all the metal chips that POS deposits in the oil .

So - 10-spline pinion & yoke?
2881489 carrier, cast - 288 = Tuesday, 10/15 ('68)
ring gear 8 291 machined? inspected? 1968 Friday, 10/18
ring gear finish machined? Saturday, 10/19/68
