biggerredz71 OP enthusiast B Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 279 hartsburg mo	I just installed a new 5.9l v-8 in my 98 1500 and it keeps throwing code 1297 map sensor no change from start up,i swapped map sensors from another truck and it did not change a thing.I pulled the intake off and replaced the pan gasket with a good one and it is still throwing this code.Any help would be great. The truck ran great before with the old engine other than a rod knock.

Andrewh master A Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 8,705	pinch a wire? plug get mangled? MAP Sensor harness is open or shorted - MAP Sensor circuit poor electrical connection - Faulty MAP Sensor - Faulty ECM not just bad map. see if you are getting a signal to it.
