What kind of crank HP/TQ to expect and what kind of ET from a well set up #3200 race weight A-body?

I'm thinking it "could" come close to 500 HP, depends on a lot of factors but 480 should be easily within reach.

Maybe 450 hp at the crank - I dont know whos bench flowed the heads at 270, but thats really aggressive for a mild port job right?

I'm at 400 hp at the crank with a stock set of 1.88 587 castings, 9.8:1 and .474 lift 232 dur cam

It was a local guy, that is only about 12 cfm more than Ryan J got from a stock set

ET is going to depend on the chasis...converter, gearing and tires..

That's a lot of lift for a juice f/t. Could make 460 ish with really strong torque above ~3600

Be fun in a lighter car with 3.91-up gears and a 9 1/2" vert

i am going to low-ball it and say 430hp at the crank. The 1 5/8 tubes are going to kill your HP IMO

Do you plan on putting it on the dyno? If so I'm interested in the results. I'm using a set of Brian@IMM RHS heads, m1 single plane, Solid cam with around the same lift as you in a stock stroke 360. I just have to get around to getting the correct thickness head gaskets and a few other little things and then it can be put together.

True about the 1 5/8" but ( as in my own case ) they FIT and they're cheap :-). My 414 runs 1 5/8 because I know they fit my unique chassis...and FAST cars run 9's and low 10's on manifolds and 2 1/2 " pipes

I already have the cam and headers so they will be sticking around. I have all the stuff for the short block and the heads. The only thing I do not have is an intake, bearings, and a few gaskets.

I will be driving it on the street also so I probably would not make the cam any bigger if I could and If I had a choice about the headers I would probably use 340 manifolds instead. The only other exhaust option I have is 273 manifolds.

Who cut the cam? That's a bunch of lift for the 231 at .050 duration. It's more like a hyd roller set up with a 1.6 rocker.

Engle cam specifically for mopar lifters with 1.7 rockers.

I originally had it ground for a bigger engine with a tad less compression, then I had to sell my stroker short block. I hope it is not too lumpy for this combo

That is an iron head, correct? It may need more than pump gas. I'm afraid you might have problems with that cam. Hydro high rate of lift cams sometimes don't like high ratio rockers.

Are you going with a M1 single plane because of the Carburetor?
