I just bought a 72 T&C Wagon.......
The tailgate swings out fine but for some reason when I move the handle to fold it down, only one side seems to pop open.....I see the linkage moving down inside the gate but I guess it is stuck? How do I go about springing the driver's side open so I can grease it?
What does the Tailgate Lock button do located on the dash. Mine doesn't seem to do anything.....
The window IS supposed to operate using the key right? It works from the dash switch but not the key...my old 69 Buick wagon worked with the key....
Thanks wagon owners! See my 72 Wagon thread over in the General section....

I'm pretty sure C's are set up the same way as B's, on mine, the window needs to be fully down for the gate to drop down.
Tailgate lock is just that. Even if your car has manual locks for the main doors, the tailgate will have a power lock. Its not uncommon for the solenoid in the 'gate to rust up. You don't need it for the gate to swing both ways.
Yes, the window should go down with the key.
