Hello, school me on the factory six pack intake for 1970. Were they all cast iron? When or did the factory offer an aluminum six pack intake? Also were the 70 exhaust manifold special for a six pack motor? Or were any 70 bb manifolds correct? Thanks again for all the help
the exhaust manifolds are different and have no previsions for heat stove.
incorrect , same exh manifolds , they left off the heat stove .

The exhaust manifolds have the provisions for the heat stove, they are just not drilled and tapped I believe.
I can't imagine them not drilling and tapping them , the factory had no idea how many 6pk engines would be built in the next 2 years ....

My early Los Angeles Road Runner had an aluminum six bbl intake
My Los Angeles 440+6 Roadrunner also has an aluminum manifold, with correct cast in part number style. Scheduled Production date Dec. 9, 1969. I've owned it since May 1975.

Bob
My scheduled production date was Dec. 8th. 1969
Engine assembly dates might be the best way to determine the time frame of '70 aluminum intake cars. My Cuda SPD is Oct 12, motor is Oct 7. Over the years I've heard there was a supply shortage of the iron intakes and left over '69s were used. Anyone know the real reason?

Always heard the opposite, that Aluminum manifolds were the stock in short supply, and that was the reason Chrysler tooled up in iron, and whatever Aluminum Edelbrock supplied was either used up in production, or went to service (NOS)
....in 1970 Edelbrock was also burdened with suppling over 5000 340 T/A manifolds to Chrysler

Yes, the iron intake came about to avoid shortages from the expected increased 440-6 production when it was to be offered in models other than the RR and Bee. If the engine assembly plants had to use aluminum intakes on some of the '70s motors, there must of been a shortage of the iron intakes.
I've heard two stories for the iron shortage. One was they just couldn't produce iron intakes fast enough for the '70 440-6 boom and had shortages the first part of the year. The other was a shortage due to casting flaws with the iron developing pin holes in some of the castings.
