My 69 barracuda had regular medium gray color primer under the sunfire yellow.

Are you specifically talking about underside primer?

I have pictures of virgin under side primer that has been protected by factory undercoating forever.

Where all 67-69 Barracudas built at the same plant?

Where specifically on the car did you see the redish brown primer.

The picture below is the inside wheel tub on my 68 Dart conv. built at Hamtramak.

MOPARMIKE69, notes similar findings under his 69.5. See his picture and more discussion on this here: https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...rue#Post6838352

I've seen redish brown primer bleed through the top of worn original paint.

Some pictures of the undercarriage of my 68 Barracuda California car with undercoating that trans fluid and pressure washer have broken off.

***My bar is RR1 Maroon, Dark Red. So this is not primer just exterior Maroon overspray.

I was wrong. I just went out to the shop and looked at the car. I block sanded my orignal paint in prep for a scuff and shoot paint job. What I see is a thin layer of grey under the yellow with the red-ish brown under the grey. The grey is so thin on my car that it goes from yellow to red in about 2 strokes of the sanding block. It's this way over the entire car.

FYI for anyone interested.
SPI has a new Red Oxide epoxy primer out. It can be mixed with their white or black epoxy if necessary to match OEM colors.

And no, I don't work for them just passing on information to anyone interested.
