Thought I would throw this pic out there for anyone with an early B body considering a HHR fan.

I am running a 67 B body K frame so my engine is sitting back a bit. ( bout an inch)

I dont think the HHR fan would ever fit with the engine mounted in the stock location.

Thanks!

I've been looking at electric fan options in case my clutch fan doesn't get the job done.

I'm sure the HHR fan won't fit mine since it has the original style K.

The one piece electric water pumps might help.

What's the width of the HHR setup? Nothing fit between my 383 and my radiator. I bought Deraile's 18217 17" two speed fan - at 2-5/8" it still wouldn't clear.

I managed to squeeze it in front of the radiator, its really a great fan

I never realized that early B's had such space limitations fore/aft of the engine until I put this car together!

What a PITA!

Wow - no chance for me. Maybe the fan I used would fit in the other set-up you mentioned.

So what year is your B and when did the eng location change?

One won't fit in a small block A-body without hacking the fan up. But it will fit a small-block E-body with room to spare. It also cooled much better in the E-body, maybe having to do with better air circulation under the hood?

65 Coronet.

K frame change came in 66. Engine sits back further.
