Need to know what gauge OEM battery cables are on a 1970 Barracuda. I'm needing a custom length battery cable... I'd like to have OEM appearing terminals and insulation... can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I should buy?

Thanks in advance...

It's been a long time since I cut an OEM cable open, but I would guess either 2AWG or 4AWG. That's pretty much all I've seen for replacements.

4AWG is what I used on mine. Was almost exactly the same as the OE cable. Jeff

Your going custom anyhow so might check the appearance (larger dia) of 2 ga & see if you can live with that. It'll help w voltage drops as is & esp if you add draws and a larger output alt later on EDIT Did not know you were going to the trunk. I would go larger than 2 ga, 1/0 or 2/0

Like Robert says. If you're putting the battery in the trunk, 2AWG is minimum.

The battery is NOT in the trunk. It is in the factory spot, but I added a cutoff switch at the core support to kill the battery when it is parked. It requires me to pit stop the (+) at the core before it goes to the starter, etc... Therefore I need new cables, but I really don't want huge obnoxious cables and I never experienced voltage drops before.
