Going out this Saturday, weather looks good, dry, high of 74 degrees.

360 based 408, stock block tall filled, 12.6:1, 276/284 @ .050, .698/.714 roller, W5's with 2.08/1.60, 230 cfm @ .700. M1 tunnel ram, 2 Demon 750's. H beams and Wiseco pistons. 2" headers with 4" collector 18" long

Low gear 904 with TA 4200 (stalled at 6000 in the driveway) converter, 4.86 8.75 rear, 14.5x32 tires @ 2650 race weight.

This is in a 2x3 chassis car, 4 link and struts.

I'll tell you now I don't plan on turning this thing more than 7500.

what's the weight of the car? @ 2800 lbs you should be 9.60's or better.

2650 is with me in it as it sits on the line. Maybe I should mention these are small chamber W5's with double quench pads, .032 piston to head.

I'd be happy with 9.70's. I also expect the track to be well prepped as this is a $100/car test session. If it's not I won't be the only unhappy camper they'll hear from I'm sure.

I'm taking jets, drill bits, a timing light and other various and assorted utilities to dial this thing in. I aint wasting my $100.

You weigh 425 lbs less than my car but our combos are similar, besides I am injected on alky. Looking forward to your results. Mine has never ran what I have expected it to yet. I never make it to the track enough anymore to tune. Good luck

Yeah, there really isn't a lot of work in them. The chambers were opened up and the ports cleaned up really well. No CNC program or anything like that but my head porters bench is a little stingy too.

The idea was to have enough motor to run 9.70's in the heat and not have to lean on it real hard so it would live until I can get a real block.

Hm.... Yeah the 230cfm seems pretty low. My W5's out of the box were 260ish, BUT every bench is different.

I will toss my guess in.

9.68 @ 138

Yeah but that 363 was 15 years old, worn out, smoked and was just an MP shortblock to start with. It was a stop gap engine to get me through the last two races of a season and to the finals. It just never missed a beat so it lived there.

And you know what? I must be retarded, the heads flow 330 @ .700 not 230. What a dolt I am. I really shouldn't drink before noon.

I see no reason it for it not to run 9.30s at around 139mph.

I knew something was wrong with that picture. I think 9.60s are a given. with a better converter you could reach 50s or better imo. oh yea say a prayer for the rear.

I think it will run a 9.70 on the first pass... then
with some tuning run a 9.45 @ 141... a set of W-5s
run more air OOTB than your guy shows with some port
work... so I'll guess yours are in the 280 range or
better
