On tuesday morning we in Northern Nevada started wearing our Moarning bands in respect for a fellow officer who died in a car accident on his way to an armed robbery call.

Now with Gary, another LEO (law enforcment officer) down. I wear it in his memory too. It is great to see he is well loved and respected.

My condolences to his family and friends may god bless you and keep you in these troubled times.

Sincerely,

The Valdespino family

I can't believe it. I heard on the news this morning that there was a fatal accident on I-75. I just talked to him on woodward a week ago.
What a great guy. I'm just sitting here stunned really not knowing what to think right now. My heart goes out to him and his family. Gary, well all miss you dearly.

When I die I want to go like my Grandfather did, quietly in his sleep. Not screaming like the passengers in his car.

This really hurts.

I really don’t know why…Gary and I never really corresponded, but I felt like I knew him from his posts and his unapologetic shift from the bowtie to the pentastar. Dammit man…I’m gonna miss you.

That's exactly how I feel too. My thoughts go out to his family, friends, and coworkers. This really sucks.

Not gonna' try and talk about what an awesome person he was here and now... but suffice it to say there aren't many people around as kind and cool as he was. I'm totally at a loss. I'm not good with this death thing. Peace be with you and your family Gary.

I too, only know Gary from his posts. When I first joined this board in '99 I was just getting back into the hobby. He was one that help shaped my view of the current state of the hobby.

My wife and I are considering making the 2 day drive to the Nats this year. It would be fitting to have a tribute to him at this years event.

I'm in shock. I only spoke with Gary a couple times via PM, and what a solid person he is. He will be missed by all.

I could not believe what I was reading when I logged on to Moparts, Unlawfl has passed on, Moparts will not be the same without his posts.

May my wife Steph I send our deepest sympathy to his family and friends, many of whom I know are part of the Moparts family.

Also on behalf of the Mopar Muscle Association U.K. may I pass on their thoughts in this dark time.

R.I.P. Gary, and thanks, thanks for the help, both directly and indirectly through this forum, you made running an American car overseas that bit more easy.

Alex

This is sad news. Like many others, I never met Gary, but I feel like I know him very well through his posts. My thoughts will be with his friends and family.

Never had the chance to meet him in person, checked his car out at St.Ignace and Autorama shows. Wish I had that chance back now....
Opening the Moparts web page makes me think of him now.
God Bless his family and all that knew him.

If anyone is holding back the words, now is the time to stop and say what you need to say whether it seems to make sense or not.

I am printing this entire thread starting now, and will be going to Gary's house in a few minutes to drop it off, along with a flower arrangement. Hopefully I can gain information on funeral arrangements while there.

Please no use of frowns or other graemlins, those will not be printed. Only the name/location info and what you had to say. Please use real words however sad you may be right now.

Shock and sadness from so many that only knew him from this board. Says alot about the man. I was looking forward to meeting him this season. I always appreciated your support UN....
I agree w/ resqguy; set up a tent with his car as a tribute. A place his family can see how much he meant to the Mopar community, a place we can say goodbye to a friend.

I guess I can't say anymore than what hasn't been said a million times already. I've met Gary a few times & was a super guy. My best wishes for his family. He will be sorely missed.

Although I never met the man he gave me an impression of cool-headedness, fairness and a great attitude reading his posts. My sincerest of condolences.

I've been following this thread from work all day. All I feel is a tremendous sense of loss and grief. He was a friend to everybody and I'll miss him.

"He was the best of us."

I don't remember where I read that quote but it fits Unlawfl.

My condolences to his family.

Thru Teary eyes and a Heavy Heart I will try to put here what I e-mailed the local paper.

The Officer, (Gary Davis), killed on I-75 this morning is not just an Officer, he is my Friend.
I live in St. Petersburg, FL and Gary not only touched my life in a way that I can't even begin to describe right now, as well as many others.
Gary is a man that was as genuine and sincere a person as I have ever met in my life.
Gary was a man that gave! He gave to friends and strangers both. Gary had a way of conveying that he was not just speaking to you, he cared for you and that was his reason for taking the time to speak.

Gary is going to be missed by his Family and close friends as well as his extended family on his favorite website, Moparts.Com

Gary has touched my life and I know so many others that we will never know about.

I want ALL of MI to know that they lost a Very Good Officer and a Very Fine Person!
Gary had a love for Cars but, His love for his Wife, Family and his Job was far greater!

I want everyone to know, this is NOT Just another Faceless Tragedy!
This was Gary Davis, My Friend
Some how I know that in Heaven, Gary will Protect and Serve from above.

God's Speed Gary

Sincerely,
Chuck West
