Is there any other way to prime the engine besides taking the distributor out. I forgot to do before I put the intake on and the distributor in. I have a 360 with a tunnel ram set-up so the easiest way would be to pull the intake back off. And should the drill turn clockwise or counter clockwise; because I believe the rotor button on a 360 goes counter clockwise but could be wrong " just don't tell my wife"

From a member over at BigBlockDart:

"I just use a 1.25 ltr plastic Coke bottle. Remove cap and drill a hole in it and fit a mag wheel tire valve stem in it.
Turn bottle upside down and drill a hole in the center of the base to fit a 1/8 thread push fit 1/4" air line connector screw in tight maybe thread tape or loktite on threads cut about 3" of 1/4" air line with the same fitting on the other end too connect to the block oil passage. This would be where a guage sender screws in and fill the coke about 1/2 full of engine oil and use you tire chuck and air compressor with the regulator set at 60psi to pump the oil in to the motor. These plastic bottles will hold over 150psi but still be carefull, with the rocker covers off you will see the oil comming out around the rockers. Even on the engine stand with the sump off you will see it around all the con rods.
This set up has worked for me on many different motors with only a change of fitting .Hope this makes sense"

Rotor turns clockwise, and never tried and probably never will, the bottle oiling trick.

I'm gonna try the coke bottle (poor mans accumulator) as I have more time than money and I'm using a plastic 2 liter coke bottle as a rad catch can & it's held up 5 yrs. I'd have hated to be the guy who discovered it's bursting point was 150 psi

Spinning the engine over with the coil wire off and all the spark plugs out will help circulate the oil. There really isn't enough load on the bearings to worry about and they should have a break-in lube on them.

Biggest concern might be flat tappet cams/lifters. But they should have a break-in coating also, springs should be much lighter for break-in (like inner springs removed) and oil should have a lot of zinc with a lower viscosity. i.e.: 10w-30, straight 30, etc.
