Hey guys, who makes the best fuel injector cleaner out there? I'm talking about the stuff you pour in your gas tank.

The old van's running kinda ugly and I've never used that stuff so I want to give this a shot.

I'm a big believer in STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner in the silver bottle. I have used it in all of my fuel injected vehicles at some point. It stopped the pinging in the low performance mini-van and the dakota. Each vehicle has over 100,000 miles and the injectors have never been off the car to be cleaned.

Now be prepared for more posts saying that I don't know what I'm talking about and "that stuff doesn't work, it's junk use ________ instead". Which will, in effect leave you no closer to finding a solution than you were before you posted.

I been using Chevron Techron chevron for many yrs (14) seems to work well on all of my FI cars, and i have mine many yrs (11) or more.. 220K on my last one..with the same INJ.

over the counter = Chevron Techron
prescription = BG-44 which happens to be the same stuff, just concentrated.
BTW, The BG service is 3 parts, and while the can for the tank works wonders, cleaning the throttle body makes things idle much better too. Add in the upper end can, and this is one service that is NOT snake oil!

I've heard that the Mopar stuff is Chevron. Can anyone confirm?

I pop a bottle in at oil change since it's relatively cheap.

I went to the VatoZone and the old guy there told me to use SeaFoam. When I acted apprehensive, he told me that if it doesn't work, come back and see him and he personally would buy me a bottle of whatever FI cleaner I wanted...so I figured I had nothing to lose.

I'll give it a shot (just put it in the tank yesterday afternoon) and post my results in a day or so.

I'm sold on Amsoil. I tried it once and got 5 mpg
better mileage. It seems to have worked for about 6 months. Will be adding another bottle soon.
It's costlier than others but hey so is a good paint
job compared to Mako.
