Is the bottom rear seat in an e body convertible different than the hard top? I know the rear upper is different. I noticed the rear upper for a vert is reproduced but not the bottom, that is what has me wondering.

Yes it's narrower than a reg rear seat to allow room for the fiberglass top mechanism covers.

Take care,

Convertible seat frames are hard to find and are usually expensive. If you already have the top part, you may be able to cut down a hardtop lower section to fit. I have the one from my wifes car in my loft. I could probably give you the demensions of it on Sunday. I'll be out in the garage then.

Thanks guys, I thought they were different, but was second guessing that idea when I saw only the upper part was reproduced. Surprised they would do that part and not the bottom when that would be way more apt to rust.

it has been 15 years sence i have worked on a Ebody convert. so i am probably wrong.
yes the top 1/2 of the seats are different.
but i was under the impression that the bottom is the same between the converts and hard tops. the top doesn't go that far down to require a different width.

The rear interior panels sweep out further on each side to clear the arms and pistons of the convertible top mechanism,so the seat demensions were shortened in width to fit in the smaller area.

The bottom attaching points on the (white - Challenger) convertible & hartop (black - 'Cuda) interior panels are the same.

I believe there were two seat bottoms in '70, but somewhere along the way the hardtop version was discontinued & the convertible version was used on everything thru '74. The early difference was in the rear corners - hardtops had corners & the covertibles had a welded in "half-horseshoe" on each side. Here's the "horseshoe" that a convertible needs.
