Doing a basic rebuild on a Thermoquad for a friend. Carb has been sitting unused for years, but covered the whole time. Looked pretty nice inside and out but left idle mixture screw is siezed up in the base. I have tried gently working it back and forth with a small pair of vicegrips, gentle tapping with a hammer, a heatgun, PB Blaster, WD 40, so far nothing has made it budge. I fear it will break off if I force it more. Anyone got a secret method that WORKS??!!

TIA
Jess

Yeah, it's hopped up to over 160...

Well- Mopar Rust Penetrant (sp?)- available over the Parts Counter at any Chryler/Dodge/Jeep/Fiat dealer. Used to be called Heat Riser Valve Lubricant. It has a blackish spray. Basically PB Blaster with Graphite in it.
Soak it down- wait OVERNIGHT- and it should came loose.
Never had it fail yet- even on bumper bolts that were 40 yrs old and in a junkyard for 35+ years....

Good Luck,
CC.

I like 3-in-One oil ....and using that with a lite-touch of a propane torch ... should work.

Soak it in a mixture of brake fluid and trans fluid for a while.
