I know the nascar guys run an 830 holley. Would a 4500 dominator make more power? thanks.

Hi Alan, thanks for the reply. would either 1050 and 1150 carbs work? thanks.
I will probably have RayJe Carbs in QLD do me a Dominator. My engine won't be standard Nascar spec though. If I had a Nascar spec engine I would try a 1050, not sure you would get the booster signal from an out of the box 1150. Depending on the camshaft, most make peak torque around 6500-6800 rpm and peak power at 8400+rpm. A 1000cfm 4150 Holley would be another option for you. As has been already stated, the 830 Holley is used due to rules, they would run larger if they could.
40ford has alot of experience with these engines and currently runs one in a FED with mechanical fuel injection and zoomie headers. Great looking car to boot also!

There are only a few intakes available to for the R5P7 motors. One is the original casting of which I think there are 3 but could be as many as 5. These are for specific tracks and some teams got their power in different ways from others. There is a company that makes a cast intake that will take either a single 4 or a doul 4. They are a little pricey at $1600 each. Then there is the all out lets go fast model which is the Sheet metal version and best bet there is a 2x4. Now for the injection, you will need a specific intake built so your choices are limited. Built means either modify a current intake or have one built. I know the engine builder I talked to said I would make the most power with a sheet metal intake. Not sure if I want to drop the $4000 on one or just pony up the $1600. Yes 40Ford is prob. the most knowledgable on the board about these followed by Jesse(R5P7Duster) I am still a guppy in this shark tank...

Charles Sanborn (40ford) had Engler Machine make his stack injection, I think it was a one off. Contact them and find out
