No need for the tool. Trick is to get as much weight off of it as possible (tire/wheel) & take out the adj bolt/square block w notches/clip in rear crossmember hex socket & take off the front nut on the tapered LCA shaft & tap it back to start the whole shebang going rearward a bit then go to the other side to the LCA hex & tap it (lca hex) back forward to get the front hex of the Tbar coming out/free. On a stubborn one can clamp a large vice grip on it w ENOUGH INSULATING MATERIAL so the serrations do not damage the Tbar. #1 get the angle straight/load off of it. W the car on stands then a small hyd jack under the LCA to get the angle/load right

I agree on losening the pivot shaft nut on the LCA...makes a big difference. Are these the PST 1.03" bars? What are you putting them in? If they are, they suck....they're not clocked differently from one end to the other and you lose all adjustability. But I tried them in a '70 'Cuda so something else "may" be different... FYI I went with the Mopar Perf. 0.96" bars and love them

Yes they are the PST 1.03 bars going in a 70 cuda. I did not hear that about those bars otherwise I would have passed on them. What happened, you could not adjust your ride hight when you installed them? did you run out of adjustment?
Yes, I ran out of adjustment completely. PST claims that the larger diameter doesn't need as much "pre-load" which is how they explained the reasoning for both ends of the torsion bar being clocked the same. The have to be offset. If they are not, when you install them you will run out of adjustability and your car will be sitting low....which is ok if you like the look and NEVER want to adjust them up...
The only other thing to do is put enough pressure on the LCA to raise it up enough to line up with the torsion bar again...and now it will be waaaaay too high and you still won't have adjustability.
You are more than welcome to try them, and if they don't work out for you, I have the contact of the guy I dealt with, he was really cool and refunded everything including shipping. In return I bought the MP 0.96" bars off of them as replacements.

Just noticed this post. I have the PST 1.03's and have the same adjustment nissue, except mine is compounded by the fact I have 2" drop spindles. My next step is to try backing the hex off a whole flat upon re-installation.
