Quick update,

I was over at my buddy Hollis Page's (HP engines) and while he was changing out my springs for the new solid I mocked up the fit on one of his several small block mopar shortblocks. it looks like the bottom of the deck side and the top of the spring side need to be worked the most.

Ryans stage 2 port job only leaves about .070 of wall thickness against the intake ports so you gotta be judicious, I'm going to use 3/8" pushrods so I'll probably rough cut with a 15/32 bit and then blend with a dremel.

What I suspected and learned from the mock-up is that the angle is more severe using the taller solid roller than running a flat tappet, so the potential contact area will be overall less surface area but at a more severe angle. (i.e. less parallel).

Another shout-out to Hollis Page, congrats to HP Engines in Norwood, NC for being one of the 8 selected finalists competing in the upcoming Mopar Muscle Big Block engine challenge, we were comparing some notes and ideas yesterday...watch out for them CAROLINA BOYZ!! They can sure bring the power!!
