I bought one of these MP 175K torque converters a few years back and stuck it on a shelf.

I’m considering putting it in Mrs G-bob’s 64 fury vert.

Specs are 426”, 9.6:1, with ported stealth heads, performer RPM and 770 cfm vac sec street avenger carb. Cam is comp XE275HL, .525 lift, 231/237 @ .050, 110 LSA, 106 ICL. Cam’s installed 4 degrees advanced.

Combo made 459 hp @ 5500 and 485 ft lb at 4500.

We set up an 8 ¾ with a 2.94 sure-grip and it’ll have 28” TA radials on it. Meant to be a highway cruiser. Expecting sustained cruise rpms of 2400-2500 or so.

Wondering how loose this converter is. They never really published stall numbers on them. Any ideas on whether it will work ok in cruiser? Just wondering if there will be much (too much) slippage at cruise.

Planning to have it ready in time for a cruise up I-15 to MATS in April, although I've got a TON of work to do on it before then.
