Yes; especially when you see cars and/or wagons serving as the tow vehicles. Heck, even flat bed trailers were showboat in those days (not many people could afford a trailer). Alot of race cars (as you know) were simply towed behind with a tow bar, white shoe polish scribed on the rear window "Race Car In-Tow"
