Nicks below the surface, not protruding. I dont know where they came from? From factory back in 1972? I handled the crank like it was made of glass, paid special attention not to bump it with anything.
I havent built any confidence with the machinist Im working with so I cant say how good or poor he may be, thats why Id rather not turn it.
