The astrotone tail panel molding is a very large aluminum trim piece that covers all of the tail panel above the tail lights and both ends of the tail panel trim on the quarters are grafted into it. It requires extra holes all along the top edge of the tail lights for clips to hold it in place. Doesn't sound like you have it on your car. If your car ever had it, and doesn't now, then the sheetmetal holes for the trim clips would have had to be filled to keep the trunk from leaking.
