You say new style flasher, Is it entirely different? or just the way the new replacement parts comes?

Useally the cheap light duty ones are the ones our cars came with, nowadays they make electronic ones that can flash all day like in a mail delivery vehicule. They can be the same shape, but come in many sizes depending on how many bulbs you want flash. Any of the 2 prong flashers will work, but the round ones will fit your flasher bracket that attaches to the ash tray frame.
