3 years ago I had over $1,000 in just replacement parts for the brake system on a 96 Dakota. That was pretty much every part, but no labor, and no tires and all the hoopla that is attached to those.

When I replaced the tires, I bought them on sale (235 75 R 15), buy 3, get one free. Then add the mounting, balancing, taxes, and the disposal fee for the old tires and the bill was still over $600, and those were nothing special tires in a common size. I'm thinking that just maybe, sitting the comfy chair waiting in the shop waiting room for someone to tell me my brakes and new tires have been installed and the bill is $1600, might not be too bad. I invested a lot of effort and spent more money to put brakes and tires on my truck.
