I'm all for property rights which is why I'll never live in an HOA but these "Disrupter" companies, (Think Air BnB and UBER) roll into town and thumb their nose at local ordinances, specifically zoning. They are not subject to the established hotel tax or in UBER's case taxi permits, as well as rules about operating a business from your residence that generates foot traffic. They also take away from the available housing stock for permanent residents and drive up the cost of property while driving down the quality of life. Trust me, an owner occupier with skin in the game makes a better neighbor, along with a good fence.
