THE main thing I have found on unused small engines is split fuel lines or bad primer pumps, and I have rejuvenated many, as I work at the dump.

If the saw looks worth fixing, I start by making sure it is getting fuel, often times the line splits right at the nipple on the backside of the primer bulb, it won't draw any fuel so it can't pump any.

Just over winter doesn't seem long enough for non ethanol to go bad, I run Florida's finest ethanol gas and often forget to run them dry after use.

Chain saws are super simple little engines, easy to work on.

Ummm, just to be sure, the ignition is on, right? Easy to check for spark, too.

It takes gasoline to interest me.
