For those DIYers, I need a little help. I have a 1/2" metal conduit that I need to accept a threaded bolt (probably a 1/4" x 20 bolt). The conduit will be straight up and down and the bolt will go into the top, straight down. I need to fill the inside of the conduit (just the top inch or two) with something that hold and not turn. I do not have a welder as I thought that would be the easiest solution. Would JB weld work or hammering in a dowel rod, or some kind of body filler? The conduit will be stuck in the ground and will hold up a blow mold reindeer, so the wind/weather may move it around. I would also like to "soften" the metal end so it won't cut the plastic. I was thinking some sort of rubber washer should do it.
