I bought this one 8 years ago when my 30 some year old Brown & Sharpe died. Original 8 year old battery is still working. I don't use it nearly as much since I retired. It is made in China but a testing lab found it to be as accurate and reliable as a mitutoyo that cost at least three times as much.
