A couple of guys were asking about the Marantz 2600...
This was the most powerful stereo receiver every built, it would put out 400Wx2, incredible phono preamp circuit, 5-gang FM quartz-lock tuning, scope that would indicate FM signal strength/center channel/multipath simultaneously.
Originally sold for $1595, but Marantz underestimated it sales and was always sold out. Also below is a photo of the heat sink tunnel split apart. The amplifier section was a patented, servo control tunnel design taken from their pro-audio amplifier 510M which powered many, many touring big-name music groups including the Eagles, Rhonstadt, Crosby/Stills/Nash, Steve Miller, Bonnie Raitt. I was fortunate to snag a 2600 and can only comment its kicks ass!!! Also today they are scarce as in good condition can sell for as much as $10,000..
