Your suggestion made me think that doing so, one may be able to fish the piece with a small flexible Magnet, or a larger more powerful magnet on the bottom of the pan should grab the piece and allow one to pull it over to the DP opening wink
Myself, I'd either try the tap first or collapsing the side as previously suggested. Both have worked well for me over the years

I would say if this idea is attempted, try, if your feeling lucky, to fish a thin wire (like TiG copper filler rod) thru the broken oil dip stick and out the drain plug, and if successful, punch the broken tube into the pan, put a small"hook" on the dip stick end of the wire, and carefully extract the wire and broken tube thru the oil plug hole....?????????
