At least around here we have the equipment to deal with winter weather. I’m no fan of what salt does to cars but it keeps the roads safe. And thousands of plows out working to clear the snow.
I was in Charlotte NC working one summer and my colleagues who lived there told me when they get an inch of snow it shuts down the whole area until it melts.
I remember seeing on the news a few winters back Atlanta got knocked out by a winter storm.
We rarely get ice storms here either, they are more common down south. In 30 years my power was knocked out once by an ice storm for a few days and that was around ‘95.
