Likely rpm limited by the hydraulic lifters and the way they pump up at that rpm and hold valves off the seat. I have used hydraulic cams that required adjusting them out to .006 using a feeler gauge. That did away with any possibility of pump up. July 19th should be "Drive Like Rockford Day". R.I.P. Jimmie.
