The show is filmed here in the northern Illinois area and I've seen a few of the cars they worked on at events. I was at a big cruise where that custom '68 I think it was, Barracuda made its debut. I remember it rolling in with cameras around and a bunch of hoopla. On the show the scenes from the cruise lasted about 30 seconds!
Funny how that works! I sat in at a world series of poker final rounds by happenstance a number of years ago. We were there for quite some time watching. The TV version was 14 minutes.
