I'm running an old Mallory dual point, with a cable drive for the tach. But it only gets into the nines occasionally, and I have to file the points every 10k miles or so...which I can deal with.
this is very interesting. do we have a tendency to be over reliant on the newest electronic gadgetry? i used to put together the engine for some friends who were die hard bracket racers; 10.00 car. they tried a 6al, 7 but had the greatest success with an old car quest lx101 and recurved mopar industrial electronic distributer. they hated msd stuff.
