Oh definitely - the Ersons are 2.685 w 312 ball in the seat, the Howards are 1.756 w 312 ball, so will need to measure up for another set. I've almost got Smiths on speed-dial at this point! Howards did confirm by e-mail that they're OK for pushrod oiling - guess I'll find out, I can always send them back if not.
