My father had a Ford f 250 4x4 with the 300 six cylinder engine and a Ford truck with a 300 six cylinder and a two speed diff. He used to

transport his backhoe around with it. He also had a chev 4x4 with the 292 six cylinder engine. It was our work vehicle and was fitted with lpg.

Both the ford and chev motors were very low rpm but high torque. they are a reliable work horse.

Getting back to slant six engines, I have owned about four of them. They are a great engine, start easy and run really smooth.

but everyone I owned was hard on fuel.
