I agree that idler technically is supposed match ctr to ctr the pitman arm, that being said, Ackerman is a way over rated and subjective goal anyway, and IMO, not the problem the OP needs to focus on.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
