I know I'm in the minority, if not completely alone, in this opinion, but I'd ditch the external line unless your crank hits the pickup. I used to spin my flat tappet 472 up to 7200 with the 3/8 pickup and modified passage and never starved for oil. I tried the external pickup, but after fitment issues and realizing your swap one 90* in the block for another 90* in the external line, it went on the shelf. I never once lost oil pressure, cavitated, suspected oiling issues in the YEARS it was like that running 10.30s-10.60s. I see guys struggle with those kits and always wonder why.
